Dark Obsession

Good Morning Loves! So I know that everyone did not spend their times watching MTV last night. Because yesterday was also the day for NFL and HBO show finales. However, this post will focus on an observation made during my viewing of the VMAs. Will.I.Am preformed however, his preformace was not worth talking about....its his costume. He showed up at the VMAs with BLACKFACE, and he did not just preformed in Blackface, he watched the show in the costume. Now yes we all know that music and preformace is an expression of art, and yes if you do not know who WIll.I.AM is he is Black, however this is unacceptable. Blackface is not a joke or a expression of art. Blackface is a representation of our hurtful pass. Our ancestors have worked hard for every race to be able to have a career in the arts and be their own representation. What is the message that Will is trying to give. Because even in the Black face, it did not enhance his looks or his performance, so their was no point for his stupid decision to come in black face. Furthermore, will.i.am is not the only one that showed up to the VMAs shades darker. Snooki from Jersey Show is usually a shade of Orange, but last night she was actually a shade of brown. She could have passed for a Latino or black person if she wanted to. I do not understand why must she be so tan. Yes Black is beautiful. But one must realized that they are beautiful too. Once you love yourself, everyone else will love you. Its funny how people talk about Minority celebs using bleaching products to make them selves lighter. But in reality, Hollywood has a Dark obsession. Many Hollywood celebs tan at least four times a week. then we have African Americans that are so removed form their history, that they do not even see the issues that arise with wearing black face to an award show for the sole purpose of being different in their performance. My advice to both types of people are, Be your self and let your works define you, and not your Dark Obsession, because its not helping you its hurting you.....I'm just keeping it 100......
