Rules: when is it time to change them?
Good morning readers! Hope all is well with you all today. For those who know me well know I love sports, epscially Football. I am also a single southern sister who is very oldfashion. Now one may wonder what these two things have in common, but beleive it or not there is a lot in common. The Common link is rules. There are rules in every game (even the game of dating/love). However with every set of rules, there is also the personal decision if we should follow them or not. Also if there rules should be changed overtime. Now for all my male readers and female football fan readers, we all seen or heard about the Redskins v. Cowboys game. The game was decided based on age old rules in the NFL. The first rule is that a player can not illegally hold another player on the other team. th second rule is that if the clock run out, we will not give the seconds back in favor of the ill acting team because of a penalty. The final rule is that a penalty can be called even if the game is technically over. All these rules seem fine until there is a situation last night were the whole game was deiced on a holding penalty because the clock ran out. Now I am sure there are cowboy fans and (redskins haters) that think the rules need to be change now. As I am sure the redskins are saying that rules are there for a purpose and this is not a new rule so there are no excuses. Although I do not like McNabb (for my own personal reasons) and i hate the cowboys (for my own personal reasons) I have to agree with the redskins side. I mean rules are there and when everyone knows the rules, there is no excuse for you breaking them. The rules serve a good purpose, and if they did not they would have been changed. Furthermore, just because now one of the biggest (richest) team in the NFL has been negatively affected by the rule that is not a reason to change them. Speaking of age old rules. I digress to jersey shore. Angelina on jersey shore basically broke the age old rule. She slept with the boy that openly disrespected her, however the guy that was actively pursuing her (taking her on dates, calling her, giving her gifts) she keeps playing to the left. Now we all like bad boys, but come on don't be dumb. You should not give the person that is clearly playing you more attention then the guy that actually wants to be with you. The rule of treat people the way you want to be treated is the golden rule for a reason....it still applies. This is one rule that should always be followed and never changed. If you want a guy to treat you great, then treat him that way. If you do him wrong....don't be surprise when a guy does you wrong. Karma is not always a BITCH.....I'm just keeping it 100!
